Getting Started

Getting started is straightforward.

Follow these simple steps to begin delivering the National Schools Innovation Blueprint in your school.

Choose an implementation pathway

Select Breaktime / Lunchtime Club (standard implementation version) or Timetabled Enrichment Block (embedded expansion version) depending on the time and support available.

Review the staff overview

Read the implementation overview, and FAQs before starting.

Prepare resources

Print worksheets, evaluation booklets and any supporting materials needed for delivery.

Deliver the sessions

Run the programme using the ready-to-use resources while students complete the professional challenges.

Review the impact

Use the evaluation booklet to understand participation, engagement and student development. Afterwards, fill in the Staff Enrichment Evaluation Form.

Simple evaluation for schools

Students complete a short evaluation booklet before and after the programme. Staff then complete a very short Staff Enrichment Evaluation Form using their delivery experience.

No personal data is collected from students.

Evaluation is used only to improve National Schools Innovation Blueprint resources, produce national case studies and strengthen future school support.

Approximately 2–3 hours of preparation, promotion and resource review before delivery, followed by normal supervision during sessions.

Most National Schools Innovation Blueprint programmes are designed for Key Stage 3. Study Hacks Lab is designed for Key Stage 4. Year 7 Transition Pathway is designed specifically for Year 7.

Lite Pilot can reach large numbers of students. Standard Implementation normally supports 15–20 students, with up to around 45 depending on available space. Embedded Expansion can support larger groups where schools have sufficient capacity.

Yes. Every National Schools Innovation Blueprint programme has been designed for enrichment sessions without requiring significant additional coordination.

Yes. Schools can deliver more than one National Schools Innovation Blueprint programme at the same time, depending on available staff capacity and student interest. Student Leaders can help coordinate activities, making it easier to expand over time.

Yes. All National Schools Innovation Blueprint resources are free for schools to access. We simply ask participating schools to complete the evaluation resources and, where possible, submit a case study so future versions can continue to improve.

Students may receive certificates, Student Leadership Accreditation, opportunities to submit work to competitions and recognition through school publications.

Every National Schools Innovation Blueprint programme includes a simple case study submission process. Schools can share their experience after delivery and provide examples of student work where appropriate.

Impact is reviewed using the National Schools Innovation Blueprint evaluation booklet together with the staff implementation review, giving a consistent approach across every programme.
